Happy Birthday To You.....
Well, we now have an official 3-year old. Wow. And what fun he had at his little birthday party. He wouldn't let me call it a big party, so little it is.
On the big day, we got phone calls from all over - Mama, who got dissed when she tried to sing the Happy Birthday song, Grandpa Bush, Aunt Barbara, Gramma and Donna, and of course, Papa. E did finally let us sing the Happy Birthday song, so I suppose it's ok. As a side note, I also tried to sing the song first thing on the big day, and was also rebuked. Now, though, I am still singing it every day, at his request! Such is the life of a complicated little man.He had a party at daycare, too. He took in cupcakes and treat bags for his whole class! Poor A, he had an ear infection and had to stay at home with Mommy that day. We did have a nice nap together, tho, so all is not lost (at least for me). A also missed presents that night, but he needed the rest and was all better for the little gathering on Saturday. He did get to take a peek, tho...
Cute Clara! I put her in charge of helping the little kids write their names on the place mats I made. She also helped with stickers and coloring, too! Such a big girl now! I think she really enjoyed being responsible. She was very concerned that all the kids got their stuff to take home. What a good helper she is!
Kudos to Papa and Dave for braving the 36 degree rain and sleet to cook for all of us! Good job!
Here is the special balloon bouquet that E picked out all by himself. Not only did he choose the types of balloons, he also was very specific about color. He has a good eye. That's my boy! Mama gets the credit for the lovely cupcake tree. She took on the weighty responsibility for truck placement. Yes, those are Tonka trucks on the cupcakes! Mommy gets credit for the original idea, tho.
The Bob the Builder pinata was also a big hit! The kids liked pulling the strings, but more importantly, the goodies that came out!
I have to give credit to both Z and E for the big men they are - they played hard until almost 10 pm!
I hope everyone had a good time - thanks for helping us celebrate! And special thanks to all who helped me out during the party! I really appreciate your help!
Some of Gramma's video...including the big, or little, song...
